Violin Labeled: Damek Nekovar Prague, Czech Republic Anno 2008 n. 387 (number hand written) This is the "Artistic" model violin from the shop of Damek Nekovar. This particular model violin bears some unique features such as the carved boxwood fittings (pegs, tailpiece, chin rest and end pin), hand applied antiqued style varnish, desirable corduroy textured top, pinned back plate and an Aubert bridge. Description: This is one of two that I am offering and this particular violin (#387) has a two piece top of narrow grain spruce and an incredible book-matched two piece back made of prominent flamed maple, with ribs and scroll of matching figure. It is varnished with an oil based aged brown varnish over a golden ground coat which is very appealing to the eye. This violin is well set up and features a beautiful matching set of carved boxwood fittings. The tone of this violin is broad and powerful with great response and volume.
