This card is the first in the "Sweet Jane" series. Printed on softly flecked recycled paper, it features a silhouette of Austen from the first edition of her novel "Mansfield Park." The silhouette is printed in navy blue ink and is surrounded by a pearlescent blue frame. Beneath the silhouette the card reads "I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal." The quote featured is from a letter to her sister Cassandra and as a fellow cynic and perpetual crank, I've always gotten a kick out of it. Future cards in the series will feature Austen's witty observations from each of her novels. Have a favorite Austen quote you'd like to see? Feel free to convo me. Each card is individually printed by hand, by me, on my Gocco. Slight variations are to be expected. Blank inside, the card is 5.5" tall and 4.25" wide and comes with a matching envelope. It is shipped in a cello envelope and flat cardboard mailer to ensure it arrives in pristine condition
